Investing in the Next Generation: Her Planet Earth’s Mother-Daughter Journey Through China
An intimate, intergenerational journey designed to nurture resilience, perspective, and a deeper sense of responsibility in the leaders of tomorrow.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - SINGAPORE – April, 2026
In June 2026, Her Planet Earth will launch its first-ever Mother-Daughter Impact Journey to China - a thoughtfully curated experience bringing together two generations to explore not only a country, but the values shaping the next generation of leaders.
Taking place from 25 June to 4 July 2026, the 10-day journey will travel through Shanghai, Beijing, and Sichuan, offering a blend of cultural immersion, natural exploration, and shared challenge.
At its core, the journey reflects a simple but urgent idea: preparing the next generation requires more than education - it requires experience, exposure, and perspective.
The programme will bring together an intimate group of 12 participants - 6 mothers and their daughters, with daughters ranging from their teenage years to early twenties. Designed to foster meaningful connection, the experience encourages not only deeper bonds within each pair, but also across a wider circle of women.
This marks Her Planet Earth’s 17th global expedition and impact experience, and signals a deliberate step towards engaging the next generation more meaningfully in conversations around leadership, responsibility, and the world they will help shape.
“We are not just preparing the next generation to navigate the world - we are inviting them to help shape it,” said Christine Amour-Levar, Founder of Her Planet Earth.
Why the Next Generation Matters
As global challenges grow increasingly complex and interconnected, the role of the next generation is evolving rapidly.
They will not simply inherit the world as it is - they will be called upon to rethink and reshape it.
This journey was created with that reality in mind.
By stepping outside familiar environments and into new cultural and natural landscapes, participants are invited to build resilience, cultivate curiosity, and develop a broader perspective.
For daughters, it is an opportunity to witness leadership in action - not as theory, but embodied through the openness, courage, and adaptability of their mothers.
For mothers, it offers a rare space to connect more deeply, sharing not only experiences, but values that are often difficult to transmit in everyday life.
Together, they return not only closer, but with a clearer sense of their shared role in shaping a more sustainable and equitable future.
A Journey Across Culture, Nature, and Meaning
Over ten days, participants will experience a diverse cross-section of China’s cultural and natural heritage - from the cosmopolitan energy of Shanghai to the historic depth of Beijing, and into the ecological landscapes of Sichuan.
Experiences include cycling through historic neighbourhoods, walking lesser-known sections of the Great Wall, practising Tai Chi in traditional temple settings, and engaging with local communities.
The journey culminates in Sichuan with a hands-on conservation experience at the Dujiangyan Panda Base, where participants will take part in a structured volunteer programme supporting the care and preservation of giant pandas.
This direct engagement offers a deeper understanding of conservation - moving beyond observation into participation.
Learning Through Experience
The journey is intentionally designed around experiential learning.
Participants will:
Explore mountain landscapes and forest trails
Engage with traditional crafts such as bamboo weaving
Experience daily life through cultural immersion
Navigate shared challenges that build confidence and adaptability
These experiences are not designed for comfort alone, but for growth.
Because it is often in unfamiliar environments that resilience is built - and in shared challenges that meaningful bonds are strengthened.
More Than a Journey - A Foundation for the Future
This inaugural Mother-Daughter Impact Journey represents an evolution in Her Planet Earth’s approach.
While the organisation has historically focused on all-female expeditions in remote environments, this journey introduces a new dimension: intergenerational engagement.
It reflects a recognition that building a more sustainable and equitable future requires not only current leadership, but the intentional development of future leaders.
By bringing younger participants into this ecosystem early, Her Planet Earth is creating a pathway for continuity, awareness, and long-term impact.
About Her Planet Earth
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Singapore, Her Planet Earth is a non-profit organisation and global women’s advocacy movement working at the intersection of female empowerment and environmental conservation.
Through bold, self-funded expeditions to some of the world’s most remote and threatened regions - from the Arctic to the Antarctic - the organisation raises awareness for sustainability while directing funds to projects that strengthen climate resilience for women and communities on the frontlines of environmental change.
Her Planet Earth supports initiatives across wildlife conservation, regenerative agriculture, coral reef restoration, reforestation, seaweed farming, and community-based livelihood development across regions including Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Africa.
Each programme is designed to strengthen the resilience of women most affected by climate change - ensuring they have the resources, skills, and opportunities not only to adapt, but to thrive and lead.
Team Profiles
The team for Her Planet Earth’s Mother-Daughter Impact Journey to China 2026 brings together 12 women across two generations - 6 mothers and 6 daughters from diverse nationalities, backgrounds, and stages of life.
Together, they reflect the spirit of this journey: an intergenerational commitment to growth, connection, environmental responsibility, and empowering the next generation of women to lead with courage and purpose.
